Women’s Health Virginia – 2018 Annual Conference
Learn about cutting-edge research that is advancing understanding about the human microbiome; its impacts on diseases and conditions that are significant for women; prospects for improving prevention and treatment for those diseases and conditions using knowledge about the microbiome; and ways to improve an individual’s microbiome to improve health. Speakers will discuss issues specific to women (regarding the vaginal microbiome) and conditions that are not sex-specific but important for women’s health (obesity and related chronic diseases, cancer, mental health, gastrointestinal disorders, and aging). You will also learn how diet and other factors affect the microbiome and strategies for improving the microbiome for better health outcomes.
