VAND 95th Annual Educational Conference

April 14-15, 2024

Registration for the VAND 95th Annual Educational Conference is now LIVE 

Hosted by BRAND, the Blue Ridge region of Virginia, this year’s event will be held on the campus of
James Madison University at their Festival Conference Center in Harrisonburg. Offering a total of 14 total ceu’s, the workshops and educational sessions will include hot topics in the nutrition space including the impact of AI, expansion of the RDN as entrepreneur, culturally appropriate conversations around food, and clinical sessions on GLP-1 pharmaceuticals, culinary medicine, the gut micrbiome across the lifespan and much more!
Posters, educational resources, exhibits, networking, food and beverage will round out a full conference experience in the Blue Ridge mountains. We look forward to seeing you!

VAND is still accepting Academy members in all membership categories, students, and interns, to submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at the poster session of the 95th Annual Meeting, to be held April 14-15, 2024 in Harrisonburg, VA.

Poster Sessions

The Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (VAND) invites you to submit an abstract to be considered for presentation at the 95th Annual Meeting Poster Session in Harrisonburg April 14-15. The purpose of the poster session is for both Academy members and non-members in all career stages to share ideas, innovations, outcomes, and research findings applicable to dietetics practice.
Abstracts for the poster presentation will be accepted in the following four categories:
    1.  Case studies
    2.  Programs/projects
    3.  Research studies
    4.  Research design proposals

Abstract submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis until capacity is reached. The primary author of the first 10 accepted abstracts will be offered a $50 reduction on their conference registration fee. (If the primary author will not be the presenting author, then the fee reduction will be offered to the presenting co-author.) 
 

Poster presentations will be Sunday, April 14, 5:00-6:00 p.m. and Monday, April 15, 10:30-11:30 a.m. 

 

Abstract and Poster Guidelines:


More Information:
    1. An individual may be the primary author of only one submitted abstract, but may be a co-author of additional submissions. An individual may present only one poster during the poster session. Each poster will have only one presenter, regardless of the number of authors.
    2. Projects are not required to have evaluation data. Projects that are not yet complete may instead include proposed evaluation strategies.
    3. The title must be 15 words or less, and must not include abbreviations or acronyms.
    4. The body of the abstract must be 250 words or less, and must be formatted according to the appropriate abstract category template provided (case study, program/project, research study, research proposal).
    5. Poster presentations may not include any type of advertising, marketing, or sales pitch.
    6. One of the listed authors must be present at the poster session. The presenting author must register for the conference.
    7. Additional details about poster formats and presentation suggestions will be shared with authors whose abstracts are accepted for the poster session.
