The Department of Human
Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise (HNFE, invites applications for a calendar year, part-time
instructor. Candidates must have the RDN credential and either a PhD in
nutrition (or a closely related field), or a Master degree with a minimum of
five years of professional experience in the nutrition field. Successful candidates
should provide evidence of potential to take a lead role in enhancing
curricula and promoting teaching excellence for the Master of Science in
Nutrition and Dietetics (MSND

program as well as other
HNFE academic programs. Candidates may be expected to participate in
departmental and university service activities, including but not limited to
committee service and community outreach.

The position’s
responsibilities are anticipated to be 100% instruction, to include:

Classroom and on-line
instruction for multiple MSND and HNFE courses (approximately 2 courses per
semester including summer).

Participation in curricular
innovation and transformation.

Engagement in the
scholarship of teaching and learning in HNFE.

Mentorship of students from
diverse backgrounds and identities.

Course Instruction & Advising

Extensive intellectual and
instructional expertise ideally including, but not limited to, the following
content areas: community nutrition, foodservice management, culinary
business/management, weight
management, counseling, clinical nutrition. Participates in planning for
future enhancements of the MSND program.


Teaching responsibilities include summer


Minimum Qualifications:

RD/RDN credential.

PhD in Nutrition (or a
closely related field) or Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of
professional experience in nutrition and dietetics.

Demonstrated experience
instructing a broad scope of nutrition and dietetics courses.

oral and written communication skills.



Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated mentorship of
nutrition and dietetics students.

in online instruction.

in higher education instructional and pedagogy activities with strong
potential for being a leader in the instructional mission.

Demonstrated scholarship
and/or leadership (e.g., publications in peer-reviewed journals,
presentations at professional meetings, invited presentations, professional
leadership roles, etc.).


Salary Range: Salary + part-time benefits; salary depending on experience
