Gourd Afternoon!
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend! Is it just me or has 2021 been a year that has flown by before our eyes? The VAND Executive Board will be having its first Board Meeting of the year this upcoming weekend, and our members are our top priority as we move forward with the year ahead!
The following are the ins and outs of what has been going on with VAND:

We are so excited for your venture to FNCE next month!
If the past year and a half has taught us anything, it’s that life is unpredictable. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule the ketogenic diet webinar that was originally scheduled for the beginning of August. Our next VAND webinar will be coming up in October and we hope to see you all there! Below is the link to sign up:

Malnutrition is one of the many elements that would be addressed with the passage of the Medical Nutrition Therapy Act. Passage of this bill would be a win-win for our profession and our communities: Academy members would receive more opportunities for reimbursement while also addressing the gap in care for our country’s seniors who only have access to MNT for diabetes and renal disease – a crucial step needed to achieve health equity for racial and ethnic minority populations.
Join the Academy’s ACT now for MNT campaign to keep the momentum going on this important issue by taking the following three steps:
Action alert for the Medical Nutrition Therapy Act
Contribute $5 to ANDPAC to support the advancement of the MNT Act and other key Academy policy initiatives
Tell five people (friends, colleagues, clients) to “ACT now for MNT” by sharing the public action alert
We are so proud of each and every one of our members who work tirelessly each day to prevent, diagnose, and treat malnutrition!
With gratitude,
Taylor Wilson, RDN
